Revolutionizing Radiology Data

Radiology data has always been a challenge to manage, often riddled with typos, incomplete fields, and inconsistent labels. Enlitic recognized this issue early on and set out to change the landscape of radiology data management by leveraging advanced technologies such as computer vision and natural language processing. These tools allow Enlitic to review medical images and metadata, making the data accurate, complete, and consistent. As a result, healthcare providers can now extract unprecedented value from decades’ worth of stored medical images, enabling new possibilities for analysis and operational efficiency.

Enhancing Data Migration with Laitek

Enlitic has finalized the acquisition of Laitek, an industry specialist in medical imaging data migration. This acquisition further strengthens Enlitic’s mission to optimize radiology data. Laitek’s expertise in medical imaging data migration complements Enlitic’s offerings by unlocking access to the vast archives of untapped medical imaging data. Over 90% of this data remains unused, and with Laitek’s capabilities, healthcare providers can access and clean this data during migration, making it even more valuable when paired with Enlitic’s standardization technology. The result is a pristine database that simplifies the setup of new Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and enhances data-driven insights.

The Power of Historical Data

One of the key opportunities highlighted by this partnership is the ability to improve historical imaging data. Often, this data suffers from inconsistencies and incomplete records, limiting its usefulness for research and analysis. Enlitic’s data standardization technology can address these issues, enhancing the quality of the data and increasing its value for clinical and research purposes. This transformation could also open doors for monetizing this data in new ways, providing additional revenue streams for healthcare providers.

Market Expansion: Accelerating Growth with Combined Capabilities

Laitek’s 40-year history in the medical imaging industry, along with its extensive customer base, provides Enlitic with a springboard to accelerate its market penetration. The synergies between the two companies’ products will differentiate them in the competitive medical imaging space, offering customers a more comprehensive solution.

The combined capabilities also address significant operational challenges in data migrations, storage, and cloud transitions. Laitek’s expertise in accessing and migrating data from various PACS vendors ensures a smooth transition, while Enlitic’s data standardization improves data quality post-migration. This not only makes the target PACS easier to manage but also enhances workflow efficiency by fixing data routing issues, streamlining dictation templates, and reducing the time spent on setting up hanging protocols.

Seamless Collaboration

Integrating Laitek’s technology and customer base into Enlitic’s operations is a top priority. Initial discussions between the engineering teams are focused on how best to integrate products without compromising performance. In the short term, both companies will operate as separate entities, with immediate integration planned in sales, marketing, and finance.

While challenges are expected, such as change management and cultural integration, both companies have already demonstrated great collaboration. To ensure a smooth process, an Integration Management Office has been established with members from both teams, fostering constant communication and collaboration.

Innovation and Cloud Solutions

Looking ahead, the acquisition of Laitek opens numerous possibilities for product development. Enlitic plans to enhance existing products and explore new opportunities by combining Laitek’s expertise with its own advanced capabilities. Data standardization will remain central to Enlitic’s strategy, ensuring high-quality data for healthcare providers.

With many PACS vendors transitioning to the cloud, cloud migration and management will also be a key focus. Enlitic aims to ensure seamless access, migration, and standardization of data in cloud environments, allowing providers to harness the full potential of their medical imaging archives.

Market Opportunities: Expanding Horizons

The combined pipeline of Enlitic and Laitek is expected to present significant growth opportunities, with minimal overlap between the two companies’ customer bases. This creates a greater potential for market success, with radiology departments, healthcare providers, and PACS vendors forming the core of their current business. Enlitic also sees potential for expanding into new markets, including clinical trials and pharmaceutical companies.

Enlitic’s Vision for the Future

The vision for Enlitic post-acquisition is clear. The company aims to become the gold standard for data standardization in radiology, enabling healthcare providers to extract insights from their data and turn archival costs into revenue streams.

With continued innovation, the future looks bright for Enlitic and Laitek as they work together to revolutionize the management of medical imaging data, benefiting providers, researchers, and ultimately, patients.
